I cannot speak as to my surname and the male/female uses in Russia, but I suppose as I am only part Russian and in the West a last name is the same regardless of gender, that is likely the cause of the confusion. I am in fact a woman though and yes, that is actually me in my picture Thank you. I never know if I should be offended or not when many people think I am using a fake girl's picture. Most of the when people do that, they pick girls who look slutty and do so to eWhore - but I don't think I look like that at all, I just like the picture ^-^; I'm glad that I got the translation right, I was sure I would get it a bit wrong, lol. @~~~~, as specified above, I am a "chick", although I don't really think you should be referring to women as such.
