Hi, Maybe my question is a bit naive but I'd like to ask it anyway. I have a site that started about 1,5 years ago and it has about 200 visitors per day and PR=2. My question is: how may links (excluding FB, twitter and Pinterest, which we use every day) for off site optimization is ok to submit monthly and not to be over optimized and penalized by Google? I understand that there can be different quality of these links but I'm asking about links that won't be spam or irrelevant. So, how may links of not bad quality is it ok to submit monthly, and what is the maximum that we shouldn't ever exceed?
There is no actual number for the amount of links. It is basically a thing that every SEO person should understand and do it to look as natural as it could be. The important thing is varying the anchor text if you are building links to a particular page.
Google not yet reviewed any numbering for link technique, rather it require quality links as backlinks
Google doesn't count numbers of links, You can create many back links in one month but all links are come from quality or relevant sites.
If you have the possibility to take a smaller number of better quality links - do it. With the increase of the age of your website you can afford a larger number of links. If you increase the number of links month by month, about 10% monthly grow won't hurt you. You can't give the exact number of links, but for a domain that works for over a year up to 20 links per day shouldn't hurt if they are derived from valuable sites.
There is one more thing, even you are doing quality links and you are not seeing progress then you have to increase the effort, because your competitors are also doing link building.
Yea, prawyyy is right.. about 20 links per day should be good for your website without worry about Google. Make sure that it's coming from contextual backlinks, and not comment + forum signatures.
In my opinion a one quality back link is good enough to rank your site...Therefore, concentrate on quality only not quantity... Hope that Helps...
