I prefer to just get free 1 way links. There are many ways of doing it.

    Dear members

Just for April month Save ..Save..

Regular price is $ 25 for A1DirectorySearch.com but now pay only $ 10 to get listed on directory at http://www.a1directorysearch.com/10.html

We are working to build this site in 10 languages so once we done you would have 20 link popularity (10 in directory + 10 in detail page) just for $ 10 .

We would be happy to send traffic to you from our site.

    Dude,

Thats just spammy. Was a decent thread too. Some solid FREE advice going and you interject with not even a free directory plug, but a flat out ad for $10.

As far as the one way link or recip question

Get inbounds from general directories. This is fine, no recips.

But if it's a themed directory or themed site that's DIRECTLY RELATED, by all means do recips. Really themed as in if you have a Ferarri site and they have a BMW site...no But a Ferarri site and your Ferarri site...yes.

Just watch your link partners carefully.

Submit your site as many directories you find with your site related category.
It is very helpful in making one-way links.

When paying for a submission in the directory it is best to not just pay the money and submit. It is best to actually maybe contact the webmaster of the directory before hand a say a little about your site and where you will be able to put it in the directory.

I say this because I paid something like $49 for what I thought was getting a good quality link where I would get some good traffic.

The result was that once I paid the money and got approved my link was moved alot deeper into the directory where no one hardly goes and the PR was near nothing or even nothing at the time.

What a waste of money, and the results that I have had is that I don't even think I have had any visitors or if I have had some then not many.

    I follow the simple method:

Dedicate one day to submitting to directoriesk, then forget about it and go back to making the site.

Remember to not submit too early. If your site looks like *beep* many of the directories will not take you, ever. First impression and all that jazz.

Here's my list of directories .

Submissions to directories are good, you get one way related links.
And the most of them are free .

Submit to all that you find.

Thanks for the link. I don't normally submit to web directories. I use to about a year ago, but then I stopped. I have bookmarked your link just incase I start again.

He didn't say that directories should be banned, he said that you shouldn't submit to directories that are already banned from the search engines.

Some web directories have been banned from Google just like some other sites on the Web. This is mainly down to using doorway pages, wrong redirects, spamming, etc.

    john269,

Thanks for the tip - I've read a few times that giving stuff away that people could link to works well. Any ideas for a spanish property sales site?
