I have looked at a dozen of the most popular directory lists and have not found "adult sites" and "gambling sites" listed in any of them. If you take out the "backlink required" and "inner page" columns from your site your have my site.
1) is your page (not site) sorted by alphabetic order? No 2) do you have a recent addtion list? No If you take out "adult sites" and "gambling sites", your page is another page. If that page takes out "paid listing" and "home page PR", it's gonna be a different page. If we keep applying the same process and logic, we'll end up with nothing.
jlerner, how many of 120 got accepted? I submitted about 100 two days ago. 16 accepted, 2 rejected so far.
So far - 2 rejects. Those were due to the regional nature of the directories (they only accepted site that ended in .NZ). There may be more rejections to come - we'll see. I only submitted a couple of weeks ago.
I submitted to around 100. I have listing in aprox. 40 % (waiting time is between 1 day and 6 months, with 3 weeks beeing the most usual). I get traffic from 3 or 4 of them, mostly topical or regional.
I think I have submitted to at least 300 in the past year. I had been diligent about recording the details, but it fell by the wayside. If I hear about a new directory, I search it to see if Im already in it....and submit if Im not listed. Unless it provides a strong link, (>PR4) I dont worry about following up on the submission. That being said most directories do email me back within a week to 1 month. I have only been denied 2X, as my site was completely unrelated to the topical directory.
number of directories multiplied by the number of websites = 5000 I am doing thousands per month as well . Hand and wrists hurt, though , gotta get some better mouse and mousepad etc.
