How many diggs does it take?

I couldn't find a fitting forum for this question, so I thought I'd ask it here:

I've been promoting my digg link like crazy, and at 45 diggs it's still not doing anything exciting. I was told it took around 40 in 24 hours to send an item to the homepage. Is this incorrect? What can I do to fix this (before the 24 hours expire)?

homepage? save your time, trust me promote your site at delicious is best. digg is a crazy bot...

 

depending on the quality of the diggers and the speed in which you get them homepage can be achieved in as little as 20 diggs
