One of my friend informed he sent me $250 odd via wire transfer from his bank on last Tuesday (night in IST, so wednesday might have been transaction date), its exactly week now.
I haven't recd. the amount yet, the payment was supposed to reach from Croatia to Indian account.

I have given an SBI account which is of a small town, the SWIFT code is of Dist. HQ (it was the only commercial bank in the dist. for SBI),

do any one of u have an idea of how long should I wait before asking him to contact his bank ? I was told payment would reach in 3-4 days (there were 2 local holidays in the last 7 days).

plzz don't make guesses and if any have recd. such an transaction from Europe do give me a little idea to work on with

Why don't you get a SWIFT copy of the payment, from the sender.
Also known as MT103 , MT202, (there are a few other types also) message type which is used to send wire transfers from abroad.

If you can get that, you can ask yr local bank to trace the funds.
