Hi all, I have been designing websites for years and then a couple years ago I "discovered" the art of copywriting and thought it was real nice how you can make money if you are able to write good persuasive material that can sell. Anyways I've eaten up all the books I can on copywriting, hypnotic writing, and all that jazz and am making pretty good money by creating e-books, designing good sales letter webpages, and promoting the heck out of it.... I've read a few posts and see that alot of people struggle making money selling articles or sales letters to other people... who don't pay you what your worth. Long story short, how many of you guys are using your talents to sell info products online or any other products for that matter?
I'm currently working on an ebook, but I've been so busy copywriting that I haven't had time to finish it. I'm about halfway done. Selling an ebook is a great way to make money. The cost of producing it are low(if not free), and once you've secured the copyright to it, you can market it online without spending a great deal in advertising. If you're going to do an ebook, my advice to you is to differentiate yourself. Write on something that is hard to find, something that isn't readily available. My ebook is very unique. I've tapped into a niche that I haven't seen here at Digital or in most bookstores, but it is something that every person can benefit from reading. If you write an ebook, stay away from topics such as "Making Money with Adsense" or "Internet Marketing." These topics have been written on a gazillion times, and few people here at Digital Point will spend decent amounts of money on it. Write about something you're good at, something that makes you unique, something that hasn't been written about a thousand times. Once you finish the ebook, and you copyright it, you should next start an Affiliate program. That is exactly what I will do. Have people here at DP sell it for a 50% commission.
I've written an ebook on homeschooling but can't figure out how to sell it besides CJ and I don't have that money to invest.
Hi Brenda, Market it with Google Adwords and Yahoo and use Google Checkout or Paypal to process the payments... You will have access to the money as soon as you sell an e-book (rather than having to receive your money 1-2x a month as you would with CJ or Clickbank). With the revenue that you receive, you can pay for your marketing costs.. I've done this to great success (when I started out, I operated on a marketing budget of $100 a month, and worked my way up to a marketing budget of $3,000). As I was able to increase my marketing, my profits shot up into the atmosphere.
My first info product was sold via mail order 15 years ago. I've sold a few items since then. If you're a solid writer and/or copywriter, you should be putting your talents to use for YOU.
WAHMBrenda - I assume you are on some home-schooling forums. Do they allow links in your signature line? Have you added your e-book? Even if you only sell a couple of copies, putting it out there everywhere you have a presence, and getting a presence everywhere will help.
I am mostly an affiliate marketer, but I just started to create my own products. It's fun and exciting. I just realized that I really like to write my own copy. I may become a pro copywriter, who knows. You can have a look at my first sales letter ever in my sig. I am selling my ebook: The Ultimate Marketing Secret. Feel free to tell me what you think about it... Don't forget that it is the first one, I am in progress.
Just between you and me Frank, I just got your Ultimate Niche Marketing Secret and its a great package for the cost. If thats your first sales page you did a great job. Glenn
