One working (should be retired, soon will be), one laptop. One definately not working and a couple of "McGyver-friendly" boxes of computer parts (he could probably build something to rival the computing power of the SETI-at-home project from the contents of those boxes). And enough networking equipment to furnish a couple of small offices. At my GFs apartment I have two more laptops (one with non working screen but hooked up to the TV as a DivX player). And a Palm. And somewhere there should be an Amiga 500, one C64 and one Dragon 32 and one Philips G-2000 with a programming cartridge (think Nintendo (NES, 8-bit) but slower, with a keyboard from hell and machine code programming without ability to save. Needless to say there where no internet capabilities on that one, and not a lot of programming made either. But it was my first programming experience (about 1980-83).
At times it feels that way, people coming over for coffee and Linux other computer advice. Some times they even bring their own computer.
I have 6 working and at least 4 in bits dotted around the house. I should really do a sort out and dump the crap I'll never get round to using again.
Wouldn't it be so cool if like the whole internet just broke. Forever. And we were back to how it was before we ever got it. How would we all survive. I should really stop thinking out loud.
Teehee, Sorry. Now I've seen the gallery of your mug, I can clearly imagine you giving me evils right about now. Coolio.
I have 3 that are always on. I used to have some old ones that I woud leave lying around, but I finally got rid of them after my wife pleaded with me, though I do have a big tub full of parts.
at home, i only have 1 pc, and i laptop.. well, i live alone so, i'm the only one using the pc and the laptop.
3 working desktops, 1working laptop (and a Commodore SX64). i guess that's really a lapful and not a laptop.... charles
Home office (3) 1 hot machine, one backup and a laptop The office (2) 1 hot machine a backup and a blackberry. Just got 2 new Dells in with Dual 19" LCD, one for home office one for office. Dissapointed they only go up to 1280x1024. Have had 19" LCD's for almost 8 year running 1600x1200, looks really strange at the lower resolution.
Just one @ home for now. Inspired by Shoemoney's Gallery pics, my 2nd office LCD will be in shortly, but still only one machine for me there as well.
So a question for the guys with like 8 computers...do you need to heat your houses or do the computers do the trick?
