How many clicks to make a sale?

Just wondering because I use clickbank with adwords and that knowledge could be useful in determining maximum CPC. The range is probably really high and depends on the product as well, but I'm just wondering what is about average? 5-10, 20-30, 50-100?

 

Depends on how targetted your campaign is.

If you're getting clicks for 'Bad Credit Mortgage' and sending them to a guide on how to get a mortgage with bad credit, obviously the conversion will be better than if you're sending people from 'Mortgage Guide'.

I would expect on most products if you're sending highly targetted traffic then 1% would be a reasonable estimate i.e. 100 clicks for 1 sale.

1-5% is the average I guess. 5% is considered by some to be very good.

 

my CTR in adwords for my photo editing service is around 3% while my conversion rate once they hit the site is around 1:35.

Not too bad at all, the only problem is my click volume is low since its a somewhat-targetted niche. I haven't touched my adwords campaign for some time though. I only have about 50 keywords going.

 

It definitely depends on how target your campaign in.
