Hi guys I an a complete newbie to affiliate marketing and clickbank. I found some affiliates that sell xbox repair guides and claim that 1 in 5 convert. That seem kind of high. I have been doing ppc marketing with Google for my main business (I am a professional dog trainer) for about four years now and my conversions are pretty good about one in 15 or 20 convert. I am also used to paying $1.50 more or less per click. I guess my question is are they full of it? Also is this still a good nich to go after? I am doing a hoplink redirect from another website that I have. I figured to do this until I nailed down what I wanted to sell and then build a site from there. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Big V
Maybe from a trusted list that you've built a relationship with. But with cold traffic I can't see any product keeping a 20% conversion rate.
I suppose it's a moot point now since I just checked my account and all my stats are gone. I can't see how much I've spent or what the click tthru rate is on anything. I guess that's Google's way of shutting me down. Thanks
I do have affiliates that make 1/5 conversions. Only because they use highly targeted key phrases - like the one above. But then I have some affiliates that will send thousands of hops and not make a sale. The xbox 360 repair guide is not a traffic niche. You can't just throw traffic at it and expect conversions. You have to put this in front of just the right person - and that's a person w/ a broken xbox. It's actually a simple sale once you get that fact. Just imagine you're someone that plays a lot of xbox 360 - and now it's broken. What would you do to find a solution? Where would you go online? - If you can answer that, then go there a present the solution. Easy money.
Lol, I'm one of those affiliates funnily enough. I can say in the past I've had conversions as low as 1 in 8 (so for every 8 hops 1 sale), however since I've had some hosting issues during jan-feb I haven't had any sales since. I'm getting the traffic, have opened another cb account just to test and see if cb are 'shaving' commissions but so far thats not the case at all. I think it maybe something to do with the recession, unless Venrooy you can see anything wrong? Luke
I personally have not made a single sale with Xbox repair guides so far. And the worst is i dont know what am i doing wrong!! Maybe you will have a better luck with it.
Out of respect for my affiliates, I do not put my own tracking code on this website. So I wouldn't be able to tell you what I think is wrong, because I'm not sure where your traffic is coming from. - Where do you get your traffic from? ps - having a link to your xbox 360 affiliate landing page in your signature on this forum will skew your numbers. Very few (if any) people on this forum are looking for a repair solution for their 360s. - Remember, find the people that are looking for this solution.
It's all organic traffic, no ppc at all. And by the looks of it, everything maybe back to normal, althou it is a bit early to tell, just this morning I had a sale, with conversion of 1 in 7 (not for your product unfortunately), so we'll see what happens.
lately without ppc, gamerbots has converted 1:66. when i was running adwords on this it was much better.
Hey i just checked clickbank report and I found out that i made 48 hops to the merchants sales page in the last 2 days but not a single sale. I guess xbox repair guides are not converting well anymore. Therefore my advice is, dont go for this niche.
Sorry mate, but you must be gathering the wrong kind of traffic. See my post above. This niche hasn't even peaked yet. Check out the analytics - gravity above 100 and still steadily rising: http://www.cb-analytics.com/product.php?id=GAMERBOTS in fact - in the last 30 days, my affiliates have sold 1,048 copies of this guide, so you'd be dead wrong if you said that it's not converting well anymore. If you want to stay away from the niche, that's fine. But for others, it's easy money.
you know a online repair guide for the xbox is going to be hard to push, since the majority of the info you can find free online I would definitely try for something else. Or if you really like it then you need to very very targeted traffic and I don't think PPC is going to be your most successful sales method, you are just feeding google. and i do agree with venrooy. It could be a very handsome product if you have the target visitors.
It's true that you can find a lot of this information online for free if you look for it. But that's true of almost any informational product. You can find just about anything for free online. But people are paying for the convenience. And if you present a convienient package to someone searching for a solution, they'll eat it up. And they have to the tune of nearly 1k poducts sold monthly for over a year.
Well if the traffic i am sending now is wrong than i dont know what kind of traffic could be more correct. I am doin PPC and my add says: XBOX Red Ring of Death? Do NOT pay $150 for the Repair! FIX it yourself for low as $23.99 *my website url* or XBOX 3 Red Lights? Do NOT pay $150 for the Repair! FIX it yourself for low as $23.99 *my website url*
Actually - I just looked up your affiliate ID, and you have sent me no hops. You must be referring to someone else's product. Also - my product is $29.95 and your ad says 23.99. That's not my product.
I was not talking about ANY specific product. I am talking about the niche in general. I have sent 48 hops to xbox repair guides from my landing page and got 0 sales. Also your product is not on my landing page because it has the highest refund rate out of all xbox repair guides on clickbank...
