It's not so much the number of backlinks, but several factors are taken into consideration, such as the age of the site, the authority of the backlinks, the age of those backlinks, the PR of those backlinks e.t.c

 

And it won't be difficult to find someone who will sell it to you. Someone who will persuade you that you are doing the smartest thing you could ever think of. Don't believe them. PR is as worthless as the lip glitter you find trawling on the wrong side of town. Stay away from PR. It's generally the bootleg variety. I dont know the count and all, but reaching PR 5 is not a simple thing need to put more effort...

Doesn't the page rank, # of backlinks required depend on the subject matter of the site? I.E a site about insurance will require many more back links to get a high PR than a site say

Does anyone pay for links from directories, i.e. btow.org or yahoo.com etc. ? If so, you do you think it is worth the money?

 

There is no hard and fast rule for this. PR depend upon many factors. I have seen sites with less number of backlinks but they have very good amount of traffic and hence there PR is also good. So there are many factors involve in that like domain age, content, onpage and offpage methods. So its difficult to say that get xyz no. of links and you will got PR 5.

 

Domain age is an important factor I think in getting anything above PR4. Besides quality links, of course.

 

for getting PR 5 you should create more no. of pages and build more back link with quality site and blog than you will get PR 5 and domain must be 2 to 3 years old.

 

Get quality inboundlinks from High Pr sites. There is no certain amount of back links we can count, however frequent changes are also very important on your site to get notice.

 

All it needs quality contents, Links from high PR authority sites, multiple sources of links and manual and slow but continuous seo process. It may take 2 or more years to get PR 5.

 

It's depend on how old is your domain,how many is your backlink quantity,how good is your backlink quality, and how excellent is your on page seo
