How many backlinks required?

    How many backlinks from high PR sites like PR4+ required to kick start a new blog? Give me an idea? And how much traffic will it provide?

    I really think and I have experienced that one good link can sky rocket your site for some of your desired keywords to page 1 on 'G'.

    But if you are aiming for your traffic to come from other websites, not just search engines, than 1 link is surely not enough.

    how long is a piece of string? backlink requirements are completely variable. it depends on the quality of the source, the quality of the target page and the niche/keyword competition. this question is impossible to answer.

    Can you give me an average idea? For example I have a domain freelove.co.in
    keyword 'free love' has 40K local searches in india and 2 million global search per month?

    yup, that is really true, or even if it is not really high quality but has a lot of backlinks, then it will still help very much

    Maybe you should try PR6-7-8 Backlinks rather then trying to deal with pr4's

    If you put Free Love in google , the number 10 spot has 217 links, number 9 has 1092, number 8 has 21931, number 7 has 194, number 6 has 187 and on and on... and also you have to check the onsite optimization and quality of those link(Pr).
