There is no limit to how many links you can build per day. What matters more is consistency. If you build 1,000 links one day, keep doing that everyday. If you build 50 links a day, keep doing that everyday. Keep doing this until you are ranking high in the search engines.
That's fine. I'm doing my link building process by submitting 100 links a day. Like directory submission, social bookmarking, forum posting, angela's paul backlinks, article submission and forum posting.. Anyway dont over optimize a new website since it will sandbox by Google.
i agree with consistency, as long as you are consistent with the number of back links you make you don't have to worry to be marked as spam and de-indexed by big G.

No limit, especially for an older domain with PR. Think of it this way, if it were so easy to go out and de-index someone by them getting tons of links to their site too fast, there would be a whole cottage industry out there in SEO just going around and nuking their competitors and search engine rankings would be a joke.
NO need to be afarid that google is gonna punnish you for having too many backlinks... if that is the case, your competitor would easily crush you by pointing thoursands of backlinks to your site... google is smart enough to find it out..
Backlinking is a natural result of publishing on the internet. That is the original intent. you can post as many as you want.. there is no limit and it depends on your ability of how much you can do per day.. all your hard work..
For a new site I start with one a day, then go go up to five each day, just raise only one per day per month, means, 30 the first month, then 60, 90....
