Hi, I read a very interesting article from internet and I want to share it with you. How many backlinks need to get certain PageRank? Some friends told me they got headache when they got stuck to these backlinks subject. What is backlinks? How to get backlinks for our site? Are we really in need of these oh so called backlinks? How many backlinks do we really need to get certain PageRank? To get things clear we really should discuss them with a real in-depth discussion. And let’s start with the last one. How many backlinks do we really need to get certain PageRank? To get some directions and the right pointers, as always, i did some digging and I found this useful writing about the exact subject we’re about to discuss, about how many backlinks do we really need to get certain PageRank. So, let’s skip all the prologues, and get the party started. How many is it Really? You may take a look at the table below closely. How to Read this Table? Here’s how to read it : To get a PR [ ... ] → You need backlinks from PR [ ... ] → = [ ... ] backlinks. Example : Say, you need to get a PR 5 To get a PR [ 5 ] → You need backlinks from PR [ 3 ] → = [ 555 ] backlinks. To get a PR [ 5 ] → You need backlinks from PR [ 6 ] → = [ 3 ] backlinks. It’s that simple. Alrite, the above table is just a quick vision ( read: not the exact equal calculation ) about backlink calculation algorithm in order to formulate the PageRank update. Well, if you’re an algebra freak, great at numbers, and playin’ around with some mathematical formulas don’t give you headaches, you should invite your self to do this pagerank algorithmic calculation, with backlinks as the main cross-calculated subject. Ride through to Ian Roger’s site, he wrote a paper about this PageRank algorithm titled The Google Pagerank Algorithm and How It Works. Feel challenged? Then, wait no more, head straight to Ian’s place to make some proper forensic work yourself. Thanks to Djarot of Djarot Studio for answering my request to make the english version of the above Backlink & PageRank table.
Questions: It seems very simple. If I want to get PR5, all I need to do is to make 3 backlinks at PR6 website? In this case, everyone can get high PR.
This formula is a great base for PR updating, however i see websites all the time that have different variations of link building and different weight averages of link scores and their websites are low in PR and their visibility is non-existent. With this said i do encourage everyone to acquire high pr links but do not forget that a link that is pr 1 can be a pr 3 next time around! The important take away from this article and articles alike is that you have to continually build links....there is no stopping! Also from long and personal experience i have to tell you that Google's PR formula does not only look at links, rather content, meta tags etc... are all very important factors that MUST be incorporated in order to achieve a higher PR score with google. see you on the first page.
Interesting discussion. I have heard over and over that PR comes from only backlinks, and that it's SEO that takes content, meta tags into consideration. Am I confused? Would be interested in hearing more. Thanks.
Blah, blah, blah, seriously, how many people are REALLY going to sit there and count every single link the place or even believe that 3 links are going to have a bigger weight. Let us NOT concentrate on quantity but rather on QUALITY. It has been said here before and in other forums. Search Engines like Google LOVE content, HIGH quality content for that matter. Of course this is true also for the content inside the page you are leaving the link at. So, content, quality, and relevance are what is most important.
very Interesting, no one know exactly about google algorithm but i think the link quality is more important than quantity
Hi, I believe that there is no certain rules or norms in order to get page rank, you need this much back links, if may suppose, this kind of rule there then No one will go through SEO instead of that They spend money on back links. Everything Depend on Algorithm.
I find that table interesting though it is not that exactly very dependable, is it? But the fact is the higher the quality of backlinks the higher is the Page rank.
The table will definitely fool many webmasters in thinking it's accurate. In my experience, You can get a PR2 on a page with 'ONE' PR3 link. The only thing you should ensure is that the PR3 page doesn't have other external links. Secondly, the table doesn't capture the fact that most pages will have a lot of other links and thus will the calculation can't be straight forward the way it's presented here.
