Do you have any idea about how many backlinks is needed to get PR2?
And when you are making backlinks in DP...how much it really worth in getting high PR?

PR is based on the PR of the pages that link to you. So it is not a matter of quantity, it is more about quality. Your DP signature links probably won't pass any PR to your sites. The pages with your links are likely all PR0.

PR doesn't really matter though. Focus on your rankings and traffic more.

An SEO guru told me you will really need not less than 1000 backlinks in order to get a good PR.

That isn't true...You could get a good PR with a handful of high PR links. To get PR2, you could probably do it in less than 200 links, even less if they have PR.

Not always, the PR transfered from the sites that link to you not only depends on the PR of those sites...also depends on the quality of those sites...backlinks from link farms could even damage your PR.

I have a site with 56 pages in it, good internal navigation and no back links. It is a PR2. The quantity of the page in your site also helps create PR. Just make sure that there is a link on every page the goes to the home page.

"Just make sure that there is a link on every page the goes to the home page."

I'll go a step further and say to anchor that link in your keyword you're trying to rank for.

There's no relation as to how many backlinks will actually get your site to certain PR. PR just reflects the importance of your page in google's search engine and having a certain number of backlink is just one of the thousands of criteria that is used to determine the ranking. There are some sites which have really low number of backlinks but still they have high PR compared to others which has higher amount of backlinks.

If you got only one PR5 linkback to your site you will get a PR2.

How do sites get rankings like PR4 and PR5 3 weeks after the site goes up for the first time? I don't understand that.

It really varies based on quality of the links. You can get 1 PR8 and get a PR4 ;). You can get hundreds of junk links and not reach your goal - or even get penalized :).

Totally true. If you have 500 backlinks from a bunch of PR0 sites, it wont make you a PR2. Try to build backlinks on pages and sites that have a higher PR than what you're aiming for

That's easy; one link from a PR 4 page with less than 10 outbound links should give you a PR 2. For the same PR 2 you need about; 3 links from PR 3, 18 from PR 2 or about 100 from PR 1 pages. ;)

    PR distribution depends upon

1.) PR of the page from where you are getting the link

2.) Number of outbounds on that page.

Work on linkbuilding and promote your site actively. The PR will come in due course.
