Quick question. Say I find five blogs that are do-follow and I leave five links on each. Does that count as 25 backlinks or just five backlinks?
If you comments on five different blog posts in each blog, then you have 5 backlinks. If you make 5 comments on a single blog post to 5 different pages in your blog, it's also 5 backlinks.
There is no limit. You can have as many as possible. At the end of the day as Mattcutts says a link is a link.
Since its like you will promote the same link through five blogs and you will get only 5 back links but not 25 back links, you can post on other blogs apart from the same ones for more back links ...
I don't think 5 links to the same page will make any difference compared to just 1 link. The best is normally one good link with your keyword text linked to your site. Anything more than that is just spamming, unless of course you are using different keywords linked to different pages on your site. Other than that, do not use more that one link to one page. The trick is to link from as much sites as possible and not get all your links from one site. Read this post. Good luck
All utter nonsense! As someone said up top, Matt Cutts said a link is a link. They will not be discounted or ignored, so the answer is 25 links if you post 5 on each of 5 blogs. It may be "spamming" but that does not stop it being a link! Some of you should really do your own experiments before misinforming people. You will be telling us that nofollow links are completely ignored by Google in their ranking factors next...
