What kind of traffic do you mean? SE traffic depend on PR.

It's not about PR it's about traffic...

What's the point of breaking your back to get a PR7 site if you get no visitors?

In my experience, concentrate on building traffic, build links to sites that will send you traffic... The PR will come later - for what it's worth!

Just a reminder - PR appears to have no bearing on ranking. I have low PR ranking sites with high traffic that outrank much higher PR rated sites. In my experience, you will get better results if you ignore PR as you will be able to focus on more useful parts of the SEO process...

    My 2 cents...

True PR is all about backlinks, but I think, the age of the domain and how long it is registered also affects PR. I have seen old domains / websites with very small number of backlinks yet their PR reaches 3 and above.

You may find this article interesting - Age of a Domain and how it affects Google's algorithm.

It depends on what type of link you got. I mean if the pr of that sites you got are very then your pr also will not increase.

It is not based on the number of back links but the quality of back links that you are getting. Quality is better than quantity right?

Oh yes! The one high quality link (PR3+, related, lang, etc') can bring MORE JUCE than 100 regular links...

Yes it is. If you have a backlink from PR3 site, related topic site, related IP/Country and Language, this link will be more useful fro you than a link from PR3 site from different country, not related topic, etc'. Google knows how to rank backlinks.

If you manage to obtain one pr5 backlink, from a webpage with few outbound links then you will be pr3.

Also, use Social Bokmarking to help Google index your pages quickly.

The reason being directory links are less valued. Do some high PR blog commenting. Its should help you.

There is no sense of the number of links, the qulity of links are important factors too, i just get 1 pr=4 link, and 5 pr=0 link, and then my site home page is pr=2. If you get 1 pr=7 you can get 5 at least!

You can't predict how much backlink you have to get PR3. It's by Google and they will decision it. Nothing you can handle to know this. !

Its not how many back links are there to your site, its only with whom and with what PR value sites you have exchanged your sites. To get more PR you have to exchange link and submit in directories which have high PR but not zero(0) PR.
