It depends on how much link juice you receive. It depends on quality not on quantity.

Even 10 backlinks are enough if you maintain good relevancy, fantastic content, high speed loading and minimum bounce rate.

It dont depend on the number of backlinks...Some times it the domain age..my friends domain is 3 years old..it has zero back links and its PR is 3. So if you need to increase the PR of you website you need to exchange links with your competitors. Relevant and high-quality backlinks can boost the PR within a short time.

    It is unpredictable.
Some less links work more and sometimes more links work none.
So its all about the value of the backlink.

Alot of this depends on what the quality of backlinks that are pointing to your site are like. High PR with good relevance backlinks could get you a good PR fairly easily. On the other hand you can just nuke it a few times and backlink the crap outa those links and get a PR4 too... Why you worried about PR doenst affect your rankings at all.

you can't need any of the backlinks from PR1-PR10 and can't insert solid contents on your webpage but you can get the first page of google, yahoo or on bing because the Page Ranking is totally depends on it. if you can do hard work to get backlinks and to insert solid contents on webpage then see the result, Shocked???There is no change and you are on the starting point of your own.arosxdotcom wish Happy New Year 2012.

Hi for better page rank you must have quality backlinks not the quantity backlinks this means that the site that link back to you should be some how similar to your site contents.Other best solution is the to find best free links and article directories to add your link such as siteseodirectory dot com which free and growing very fast.

I say, maybe at least 10 PR5 backlinks. I suggest building relationships with webmasters who are relevant to your niche.

Google for a site in your niche thats the PR you want, then try and get the same backlinks (or near as possible) to that website.

There is no valid answer to that question; it all depends on several factors: niche, competition, quality of back links. From my own experience, it's easier to get a page rank on domains with little outgoing links and where the market is still small. IMO Blogs are also easier to get a page rank for that plain sites.
