How many articles do you write/get written to test a product's profitability?

for those of you who do article marketing, how many articles do you write to test how well a product is converting? I thought i'd ask as I've seen some saying they write 10 articles and some say they write at least 50...

5-10 for me. If I didn't make at least 1 sale after the first 5 I'd probably ditch the product, but after about 10 I'd definitely know how well the product was converting. I could never write 50 articles in the hope that I'd get a conversion or two - to me that's a complete waste of time.

I'm doing okay - approx $500 a day for submitting 20+ articles daily. My income is fairly consistent for the moment so I'm currently working on sending articles to a squeeze page to build a list and automate my income more.

Basically I read everything I can find on article marketing - ebooks, a ton of WSO's and probably every article marketing post ever made on the Warrior Forum and then I test and tweak everything I read. It's only through experience (and writing thousands of articles) that I've gotten to where I am now and found out what works for me.

I build simple wordpress blogs (5-10 pages each) and have a detailed product review as the first post. I always read the product I'm reviewing (to make it look like I really know what I'm talking about), and I try to keep it informal sounding - like I'm writing the review to someone I know, showing them the good bits and warning them about the not so good. I include screenshots, product pics etc. and at the end I have my call to action.

Article technique I could probably write a book about, but it's nothing that hasn't been written about 100 times before (I'm not one to reinvent the wheel). Actually I bought a WSO just yesterday for only $7 that sums up how I do it very nicely. I don't want to look like I'm promoting it or anything (it's nothing to do with me), but if you want a link I can pm it to you.

Thanks. Yeah just go ahead and name that WSO, if its helpful to others I see no problem with linking to it so long as its not an affiliate link.

I like your landing page technique, will have to try that out.

I too have written over 1000 articles. My problem is that I have not evolved my technique. I still do it the same way and even converting to URL clicks is poor.

$500 a day from 20 articles a day is very interesting indeed!

Classic case of too many projects unfortunately.

My list building project also is derailed. I have many more too.

But I am hopeful that all will be back on board soon!

A lot depends on your keywords that you select as well. ARe you going for really highly targeted keywords or do you have a keyword that isn't reached much?

It really depends on the keywords in the article. Its quality over anything.

    It depends...

You should keep writting until you see a couple thousands of visitors to your website/landing page. It's only then when you can get an estimate conversion ratio and keep doing the same thing if it's profitable, otherwise stop wasting/ time / money.

I agree with Al (again?! ). It's not about the number of articles, for me: it's about the number of visitors. By the time you have a couple of thousand visitors (maybe even less) you can tell whether it's going to work out for you.

I have a question if anybody reads this far down the post who knows about article marketing.

    My question is...

jm55 says that he creates about 20 or more articles a day. My question is, are these for the same product or same couple of products every time??? And, how do you create that many articles for one product? Do you just reword yourself everytime? And then the final question is where do you submit them? Just ezine articles everytime?

I have asked this question before in a thread but never got a real answer.

    Thanks in advance to anybody.

Rick, if you're ready and will be keen about article marketing then read Pete's thread. He's got some techqniues explained there that work. It's nothing about reinventing the wheel or something..

Article marketing is the fastest way to get some traffic to your landing pages, that's why most people start with article marketing.

I'm a huge fan of article marketing and it works so well. Some of my articles have sent 1000+ visitors. So keep writing and keep writing. Same thing with posting videos. Those do well too.

I've sent 10,000+ visitors to 1 site with just a few videos for example. And like a few videos for me is shorter time investment and longer traffic potential. Like, a video can fairly easily get 10,000+ views and in that video I can TELL THEM SPECIFICALLY TO VISIT MY SITE and get about 10-30% to go, if you focus that on THEM.

AS for article marketing you have to focus on the "buyer intent keywords" rather than "traffic amount" 100 targeted visitors is worth more tahn 100,000 useless ones. Conversion, conversion, conversion!
