Just a couple adsense sites myself although I hope to increase that shortly due to the help of everyone at DP!
I started with one, bumped it to five, and then collapsed everything back to one. I'm sure there are advantages to multiple sites. One is concentration of content; for example I write about all kinds of Unix and Linux stuff, including Mac OS X, so I started a Mac OS X site. However: while I do have something to write about general Unixy subjects every day, I found it hard to write something new about Mac OS X every single day. The same thing was true for the other satellites I started. I felt I just wasn't able to give them the attention I wanted to, so I brought them all back "home" where they started and put the content into my main site. I didn't keep any of these long enough to generate more than pennies in advertising revenue. That was another reason I brought them back into one site - concentration of content. Google knows my main site well and sends me a lot of traffic, which translates to more advertising opportunities. I felt I was losing income by separating this content because Google didn't send them much traffic. The very same article within my better known site would get higher SE and PR rank more quickly. On the other hand, multiple sites can link to each other, and apparently Google is oblivious to that game and will build PR from incestuous links. I'm certain that "hole" will be plugged sooner or later, as will similar cross-linking within blog networks: PR shouldn't get a boost from those. However, right now it apparently can, so that's another reason you might want to do multiple sites. I think if you can honestly spend the time to do a GOOD job on multiple sites, go for it. I couldn't do it: one site is all I can handle well. YMMV.
I've got 5 at the moment, but not all are generating real income yet. I make a real effort to track all sites and units with channels. I also serve them in rotation with phpAdsNew. One of the tricky bits is getting any dynamic site to generate related ads (which I have solved I think) instead of php or password ads. I use the AdSense Section Targeting feature to work this issue.
Nine with adsense on, I think. Probably like a lot of people, when I started building sites I had never heard of adsense.. ...now I wonder about my ad placement before I even start the design
I run them on both of my websites right now. My football website is earning more than the wrestling one, but I just started the wrestling one. Still, I don't make a whole lot with the football one. I plan on doing a re-design of my football site after the Super Bowl in hope to be able to specifically place my ads in a place where users can see them easier.
I have about 5, all of them actual sites not blogs, and between them all I get around 5000 uniques a day (2 big ones and 3 medium ones). That said I don't make that much out of all my sites (around $20/day).
I have around 10 sites with Adsense on, but just started dabbling with making lots of little niche content sites, and putting them on subdomains. I am doing all the experimenting at informationpagesonline.com with subdomained sites created using web templates to get a nice theme, and content from article directories, I even added my own article directory so I get ready made content to use. I also use content from the private label rights sites I joined, so it is a little more unique.
15 sites, Adsense on 3. Rest under development. Non of them are Adsense only site. 12 blogs with adbrite 6 blogs with Crispads 10 directories to support all the above. All of them PR5+ 10 hours a day on content development for the above blogs and sites
I have upwards to 50 sites, most are sub domained. Most are content sites and doing better day by day as the word gets out. I also have a directory that accepts free links, and shortly it will have adsense on it also. An article directory that when it went down earlier this month, I have not really pushed or done a thing with....should really do this, among my other projects! I have many thoughts on content sites and unique content. One day, I shall start shelling out these thoughts! So beware of the Iowa Dawg....LOL The Iowa Dawg
What do u ppl mean by blog/site made for adsense? And since wordpress has categories, putting categorized content in categories is the same as having a sub-domain? If possible what do you think of location of adsense in my blog? Thanks in advance
Made for Adsense websites are one, which are created with a sole aim to earn money from Adsense. It generally lacks original content. Most common form of MFA website is the one, which contain automated search queries from popular search engines for popular keywords. No categories in Wordpress will not be looked as sub-domains. Location of Adsense in your blog is perfect. Just a thought - Why don't you consider making a website instead of going for a blog. Your postings are too long which is not suited for a blog.
Whole idea of blogs, to add content. It can be one sentence, it can be one huge scroll. Does not matter. What guru came up with that piece of advice, keep it short on a blog? But if length is a bother to anyone with a blog, just insert the first paragragh or so, with a continue. Like my blog, if I put the complete posting, it would be one HUGE scroll! So I just put the first chapter of the latest internet marketing book on, with a link to download the entire book (free). Keep in mind, blogs fit in many categories, and personal blogs can have anything and be of any length. The Iowa Dawg Now going to update my internet marketing blog with a new ebook to download.
talking about hosting multiple domains - which host do you guys think is the best for this - i currently can have four on my account and they said there is no way they can upgrade this! Which host offers the best for unlimited domian hosting? Thanks J
What do you mean by 4 domains and they can not upgrade you? Any host would be glad to host more domains with you. The Iowa Dawg
