How many ad units do you have on per page?

I know that Google has allowed up to 3 ad units and 1 link unit per page (although I heard they changed it to 3 link units). I have always taken advantage of this because the way I see it is, as long as your ads blend well and you have good content more is better. However, I have noticed that alot of sites with adsense rarely use more than 2 ad units per page. Just wondering why that is. Do most of you take advantage of the 3 ad units per page and if not why?

Yeap the new policies of Google recently allow 3 link units on each pages.

Most people will not use 3 ads units because this will make the site looks made for advertisements or it will convey a message to visitors that "Click the Ads, I want money!". This will make the earnings from AdSense Ads lower. Besides, Google will display higher paying Ads first, so more Ads units will attract visitors to cheaper ads and cause lower earning per click. Less is better. ;-)

Wow thank you for clearing this up for me. I am going to make some changes to my sites and reduce the amount of ad units.
