How low can they go?

At these rates, I'd rather not have the clutter on my site.

    $0.01????

I can't bid nearly that low at Adwords. How does this get so low?

Keep in mind that you only get a percentage of the revenue from the click. Google keeps their share too.

You use to be able to bid 0.01 per click, and I believe any adword that was set prior to that change can still be displayed for the 0.01 price.

If that is the case, won't the publisher be unable to get anything out of that click, after Google takes its cut of the $0.01?

    1. Advertisers in certain countries like India are allowed to bid at 0.01$.
    2. Publishers get only a portion of what the advertisers bid.
    3. Smart Pricing may reduce the amount you get paid per click.

Google takes its cut approximately 30% of the 0.01 clicks.

I get some low clicks, too. But, I have to say that I have never seen a .01 click. I was shocked today when I received a click for .34! I am in the big bucks now. :D

UK advertisers have a minumum bid of $0.01. I had always assumed this was the same accross the world but is seems from what people have said that is not the case.

I think many advertisers set their prices higher for ads on Google and much lower for "content" bids and it is the content bids that appear on your site.

Sadly many advertisers are scared of fraudulent clicks which is why they set a vety low "content" bid.
