    How long until all the updates are done and serps settle down. Or how long does the google dance usually last

    I think it never settle down.. you have to work every time to get good serps.. but competitions is lesser when ur site is not new..

    usually (for me) it last no more than 48 hours - for the couple dozen sites I own...

    The web is getting bigger and bigger so it is not weird that if google do dance it would be getting longer and longer.
