I'm planning on starting several online businesses however one of my prerequisites before plunging in to that is becoming completely self reliant in areas such as designing my own websites, photoshopping and video editing. I'm going to be using online tutorials to learn the basics and advanced techniques of web design however I would like a ballpark estimate as to how long it would take to learn these web design skills assuming I study several hours a day? This includes basic photoshopping as well for the appearance of the website as well as coding (basic and advanced level) and SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
It is totally depend on the effort you put and your interest to the subject. you cannot learn everything soon, but start to work. You'll get new experiences day by day and it'll improve your design quality. A good knowledge about XHTML,CSS,JAVA Scripts, some scripting languages like PHP,ASP etc are compulsory.
