Its should be done within a week, normally when you initiate a transfer you have to obtain an EPP code, give those details to a new registrar then wait. after a while you should get an email to the email address that held on the whois registrar for the owner of the domain, you then have to agree to the transfer and wait up to 5 days, once the time has cleared it should then appear in you godaddy account.

If its a .co.uk domain it can be done with 24 hours just by change the ISPTAG, but I'm presuming it a .com or .net you are transferring?

Anywhere from a couple of hours...to a few days...to never.

From what you described, it sounds like you've already confirmed the transfer
with the gaining registrar. It's just a matter of how soon the losing registrar is
going to release the domain name with or without replying to them, and that's
if it's unlocked and has no (knock on wood) outstanding issues whatsoever.

Well i did something similar to you i bought some domains through the hosting company i was with at the time, they had a very basic control panel and i had to email them when i need to change the nameservers, i recently spent just over $200 transferring them all out to namecheap so i have full control over them now.

The ISPTAG i think is specific to .co.uk domains, that needs to be changed to enable the transfer from the old registrar to the new one. An EPP/EEP code is an authorization code you need to obtain before you can transfer out a .com or .net it may also be associated with other domains but not entirely sure.

From now on i will only use namecheap and godaddy as my main domain registrar's they both have good control panels and are highly recommended by most people here on DP.

Thanks for the +Rep i now have 2 little green squares, woohoo!!

A transfer could usually take up to 7 days. The longest it took me was about 6 days but better allow a whole week just incase.

Browsing through my manashosting account i found something called Domain Secret Code. I have already made the transfer request at godaddy. Can i give this code to godaddy somewhere??(Now i think i should have transferred the domain to name.com as it asks for the code at the start of the transfer :()

(To Mods:couldn't edit the previous one i and i wanted to ask an important question regarding the same..)

It has taken up to 72 hours for me. The best thing to do it to contact manhosting and Godaddy after 3days of wondering and see how they can expedite the process. Sometimes our excitement has us miss something.
