A push to an account at the same registrar is almost instant. The push to another registrar can take up to 7 days.

You should wait 60 days after registration date. Here's the original quote from icann site:

You can read all conditions from here: Transfer Policy

    A simple explanation:

    1. Push is instantaneous..however do note that a push means that the registrar remains the same..

    2. Transfer takes around 5-7 days..and involves a change in registrar..

Of all the registrars that I use, there is no waiting time to push a domain name after it is registered. Only a waiting time to transfer the domain. Hope this helps ;)

GoDaddy allows you to push the domain immediately -- but, they do have a few minutes of waiting period between status changes.

For instance, if you "unlock" the domain, you will have to wait a few minutes before you can attempt to "push" or "transfer" the domain to another account. Godaddy can be slow at times.

Also, you can experience problems or errors if you do not use the right account number and email combo of the person's account who you are trying to transfer the domain to.

But, sometimes Godaddy shows an error even when the account number & email are correct -- so I always try the combo a couple of times before I give up and either contact the new domain owner or use the "enter new details" feature.
