How long will Google honor old ad formats?

Since Google has gone away from showing add formats in their javascript and now use an ad_slot where you can adjust the ads from Adsense center.

How long will they honor the old formats?

Hundreds if not more sites depend on this old format for revenue sharing

    Why can't you?

15 minutes of code updating, unless you are running a large chain of MFA websites, I don't see a reason why you can't.

    Peace,

ah i think you missed the revenue sharing part , like this beloved site we use.

    It uses the old format

If it used the new format, then Adsense would generate an id for the ad for the owner of this site.

Then everyone else who submitted their adsense id , it would not match with the ad_slot id , becuase the ad_slot was made in another account.

I hate the new format. It's a pain in the arse to create new code now and then adjust it to fit the site. I hope they don't change that.

Yes i'm facing this problem as well, in a revenue sharing website if you convert and use the Adslot and users input this then the user can alter the Ad formats on your website via their Adsense account.

    Presents a problem.

No, i like to keep contact with them a minimum. I've read a lot of stories of honest publishers sending them an email about Adsense issues and wound up banned.

I started 3 projects a month ago and they are now earning $200 per day each, this is on top of my normal earnings so you could say i'm a little "edgy" this month.

Would you like to contact them?

The other possibility is they have done the new Adslot in this manner to put a halt to revenue sharing sites.

I have an email somewhere were they say Revenue Sharing on smaller sites is fine and dandy, and that the API is for large sites and smaller sites should use PHP scripts.

I would hope they are not that whimsical.

200 per day...that nice....wanna sell your secrets LOL

Yeah i know they haven't minded revenue sharing in the past, but you would think if they encouraged/accepted it they would of incorporated a way to continue with the new Adsense format.

Nah it's not $200 per day, it's $600 per day coming from 3 sites started a month ago in addition to the normal revenue from my other sites. See why i'm jumpy, such a large increase in monthly revenue in such a short timeframe.

The traffic is 99.5% natural organic from search, specifically from Google or Google powered search and the bulk of it's US so good traffic. I also run Adsense monitoring and click fraud protection but i know people who have been banned, and they definitely did not click their ads.

So i just don't like contacting them unless absolutely necessary.

I use the old format to randomly change ad colors in some websites. I hope adsense will continue to support the old format.

I hope so also. Not for the sake of rev share but because it is simple and just think of all the non rev share modules for so many applications based on the old format
