Hello, I was wondering how long it takes from when a website is launched for search engines to start bringing you a decent amount of traffic. It looks like the search engines give priority to websites who have been online longer than those newer websites. How long can one expect for search engines to give enough weight to a new site to compete with the older ones?
Hello ablaye, True the websites which have been onlnie for longer period do get decent traffic. In google if your site is chasing for some competitive keywords like .. Credit card or anything, it may go in sandbox ( They index your site but you wont get good traffic) same with yahoo also. MSN can give you good ranking if you have targetted good keywords and your keyword density is higher. For MSN i think still meta description, kw's and title matter. Only thing to get outta google sandbox is get more backlinks and add content every couple of days.. put your website in signature and it will be crawled faster and frequently .. in turn all spiders will see that you are adding good new fresh content ( make it unique, don't simply copy from any article site) and you will see your rankings within 15 days, that i am sure .. because it really helped me.. and i have some good traffic coming from SE's like 550 Uniques from just SE within 15 days of my SEO.. If you have lots of original content pages and quality backlinks from relevant, high PR sites, then you should get reasonable traffic with a month. The more content you have the more traffic you will get. The better SEO optimised that content is, the more traffic you will get.
