The Googlebot has been to my page several times starting 1 week ago but I'm still not listed on google. How long does it usually take?
There is no rule. For some sites it takes just two or three days and for some other sites it takes months

The best way to actually check you are in there is to check the cache and to search on site:www.mysite.com Even better sign up at Google's webmaster tools (https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/), submit a sitemap if you have one, verify your site and once it's verified check out the crawl stats as they come through. It's very enlightening.

wait a few days and you will be indexed. place some google adsense code and the result will be faster
If your question is really when will you show up in searches made for your keyword then this really depends on how much you optimised your site for that keyword and how much competition there is for that keyword. I have ranked at number 1 in Google in less than a week (a week after I purchased the domain name) for a set of key words (there was no other site optimised for these words); obviously you also need to ensure that people are searching for these words. So if you are not showing up in the searches soon look at changing the words you are optimising your site for.
