How long to recover in Live Search

    Howdy Folks, :D

How long does it take to recover in Live Search after doing a site overhaul?

I had many keywords ranking in Live Search before the overhaul. But afterwards, ranking is virtually non-existant. I re-did the site three months ago.

The other search engines picked up the changes right away and the KWs are ranking well in the other search engines.

Does Live Search have a problem with web site changes?

Have you resubmitted your site through the live search webmaster tools/verified it since the change etc? Live seems to be pretty slow picking up changes or new sites, but it's the fastest or close to tied with Yahoo in showing new links.

You probably already have this but just in case.

I couldn't tell you that one. I had a site that was in the top 5 positions for well over a year and now it is completely gone out of the SERPS. I redid the site, verified with their new webmaster tools, was sent correspondence emails (automated I am sure!) and still nothing!

Really frustrating since the majority of my sales were coming from MSN Live search visitors.

MSN has an aggressive spam filter that can be triggered by a keyword density increase. Are all your pages still showing in their index?

Mine aren't. I think my site I was referring to is actually only down to 2 pages. This must be a new part or their algo since that site did so well for so long.

When my KWs hit on MSN, they only hit on the homepage. Such as a link on the homepage with the KW in it.

The actual pages which are optimized for the particular KWs do not show in the SERP. Only the homepage ranks.

This site has been live for 6 years and has no issues with other SEs, only MSN. And only after I updated the site did the MSN thing show up.

What is wrong with Live Search?

it's probably just the SERP dance in effect... keep checking. I've had sites dropped, then they show up again 2 days later.

    Greetings again,
    Updating my issue now.

I did site:www.myurl.com on Live Search and all the pages appear to be indexed.

Still can't get past the index.htm page for any search term. In other words, none of the inner pages are showing up in search results. Only the index page pages shows in the SERP.

Pages which are optimized for certain KWs don't show. Only index page returns in the SERP.

I guess this could go on forever... sheesh!
    :D
