How long to leave redirects in place?

    I have just recently moved the content from one website to another and 301 redirected all the old pages to the new domain. I have also contacted my link partners and asked them to update their links. This was all about a week ago, how long should I leave the old domain up and redirecting to the new one? Or should this just be left permanently?

    If you want to redirect your BL's and PR you should keep it forever :D

    I have to agree with my countryman Zokiii, I have moved my website from one place to the next about four times and I have recently changed all my urls for CMS and went SEO crazy. :D

    There are still numerous links to my sites second location which is gone (as is first) and I can't redirect but I have placed redirects on my previous location and I'm getting small amount of traffic each day and there are still plenty of links to that location from outdated but still well positioned link pages even though I have moved my website to current domain back in 2003!
