How long does it normally take for google to reply emails? I've sent an email to about 3 weeks ago, bringing to their attention that my new domain might have been a banned one before I purchased it, and whether I can get reincluded. Does it usually take this long? Or did i sent to the wrong email address?
FWIW, A client of mine did buy a banned domain name. I wrote to Yahoo and Google about it. I never got a reply from Google but got a canned response from Yahoo. In the long run, the client elected to abandon the domain and start another. Now the abondoned site with nothing on it and one back-link has a PR of 3 and is nowhere to be found in Yahoo. Okay, so I know the PR doesn't mean much, but if he had stuck with the abandoned domain, he might well be out of the sandbox with it by now.
I had a domain name banned for no reason I could think of, I emailed them, got a standard reply in 3 days saying I should check this and that and if all else failes, please reply again. So I did, 3 days later got another reply mentioning an URL on google.com about webmaster guidelines. Replied again, quoting that page and saying my domain is not doing things it should not do according to google, never got a reply but got reindexed 20 days or so later. So my advice: if you do not hear anything within 1 week, e-mail again using the same ticket number (if you've got one).
You should submit questions/requests using their online form. I did that to get unbanned. They replied within a week, and a week and change later I was unbanned. By comparison, all emails I sent them were responded with a canned reply. They seem to go with the form emails now.
Oh, you'll get a reply. But it'll be a canned reply. You must use their online forms. That's the only thing they respond to nowadays.
With google, I usually get a reply within 1 week. I once bought a domain and later figured out it was "banned" from the google index. After I had it online (and far from original content) for a good couple months I emailed them explaining it was under "new management" etc, etc... please consider adding it back in to your index. I got a standard "Thanks, we'll look into this...". Within 2 weeks the site was back in. *Might* have been coincidence, but I don't think so.
They replyed within 3 days to me, when our site was first launched we got the sand box effect and i was not quite sure what to do. So i emailed them and they replyed within 3 days. I wounder how many emails they get a day? scary.
It's been a week, and I'm glad to say that my domain seem to have its ban lifted already. Doing domain.com search now shows "If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: domain.com", which will be absent if a domain is banned. Thank you for those who gave advice.
If you search google for a domain that doesn´t exist you will get ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.kjasdhfkjashdklfjas.com If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.kjasdhfkjashdklfjas.com Find web pages from the site www.kjasdhfkjashdklfjas.com Find web pages that contain the term "www.kjasdhfkjashdklfjas.com" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If google doesn´t return the line ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.kjasdhfkjashdklfjas.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the domain is banned.
I sent an emai to around 2 weeks ago. After 1 week I got no response other then a automated one so I decided to write another email. One week later - today - i got a reply from them.
with google, i almost always get a canned response which typically arrives the next day. one of my sites was banned due to comment spam and i wrote to them more than 3 times. good news is that it jumped to a pr 4 a couple of months later - dunno if someone from google checked it out after my emails to them...
