I've submitted my site and it's sitemap to Bing and Google at the same time. Until now, Bing is still in "Pending Status" while Google has already indexed pages of my site. How long will Bing indexed a site?
Bing lags a bit compared to Google, however, they also have webmaster account similar to google, through which you can achieve better results.
^ Yes, I have already submitted it to Bing Webmaster Tools same time I submitted to Google Webmaster Tools
do social book marking and ping your webpage in different-different search engine... hope your webpage indexed soon.. all the best
Thanks for reporting back that you got indexed. Now you are on your way. I suggest you continue to use social bookmarking to increase your traffic. Also, don't forget custom content is the best way to keep your site up on the engines. If you have a blog write a short post on your indexing experience and if you don't have a blog get one and write a post on your indexing experience. It is a simple but important first step to take.
bing usually gets content from goggle. SO if you indexed by google you will be indexed a few days in bing
I've had more complications with Bing, if you want to rank higher in Bing you need a ton of links and you just need to stay online. Most of the sites that are ranked highest in Bing have been online for awhile and also have many backlinks. Though, as far as getting your site indexed, the above should work just fine (social bookmarking, pinging, etc).
Bing is terrible when it comes to the indexing of sites, pinging worked best for me in terms of getting indexed on Bing. It seems that they take a long time to index the whole of any given site though where as Google will index your whole site pretty much at the same time.
The times to index in Bing are quite variable. If you get indexed quickly, be thankful. It won't happen every time. Some of the advice here is sold, Use their webmaster tools and have a good sitemap. But most important is.. have a link pointing to your site form a site already indexed in Bing. Bing however does not get their info from Google nor spider Google as one reply stated. That is pure nonsense. Another thing to consider is that Bing tends to be a shallow indexer unless you have external links to a good percentage of your internal pages. Bings spidering frequencies also vary greatly so how quick you get indexed often depends on how strong of a spidering cycle in in progress when your site is ready to be indexed, regardless of whether you are doing everything else correctly.
I have noticed that URL you directly submit to Bing Webmaster Tools are indexed quickly than the URLs you submitted using Sitemap.
I agree with John. If you are able to ping your site or add social links the search engines will likely find your link on these sites before it directly crawls your site. You could use a pinging service like BlogBuzzer.com
Bing usually get indexed up to 30 to 45 days unlike Google it only takes 12days depends on your backlinks.
