I know I make these periodically, but sadly I've not really gotten anywhere in the past 2 month since my site went online. Still stuck in lousy google spots, or at least a lot more lousy than I used to be before our site moved. The old site was deleted and no I can't 301 so don't ask into that. I am on my own. I have already got over 60,000 backlinks including low and high PR. I got links in directories, videos, twitter, facebook, blogs and forums...What next? If you were stuck as me what would you do? Also, if you get a high PR link, like 7 or 8, should you see a jump in your site's rank as soon as google crawls the page? Or is there a delay? Like if you got a PR 8 link, and it's not nofollow or anything, and google crawled your site a few times over the next few days, but your spot didn't change, would you think that's normal?
It depends on your techniques. Me I get the results in 2 months of my link building effort with optimized content. It also depends on your targeted keywords and quality of your links..
My techniques: No spamming whatsoever. All done manually, either on my part or the part of the webmasters who own the sites now linking to me. Winding up with over 65000 backlinks in all, most are low PR but some are middle or very high. Kind of similar to overall ratios of PR in general. I went for as much variety as possible, and many of them are the same links I had on the old site. Especially the reciprocals. I have just not really seen any change. Occasionally my site dips down but then rises back up, to where it was but no higher. Even though the links continue to accumulate.
well if you are targeting in very competetive keywords. you aint going anywhere. maybe it take forever to achieve the first page. target the long keyword first and slowly to the more competetive keywords.
I am on the first page for one keyword set and on 2nd page for my other big one. Targeting the long one first like you said, where I am at #3. We used to be #1 for both. And it was the same site just a different place.
