how long till cpc drops?

if u start a new campaign bid high to be in top position and get a high ctr, how long does it usually take for the cpc prices to lower. for instance say im bidding high for a campaign to get on front page, im bidding 2.00$ per click and actually getting charged 1.50 but in order to profit i need it to get down to like .55 cents per click. is it possible for the cpc to lower thha much? how long would i need to maintain a high ctr (5% or so) until my cpc begins to lower?

    Don't be stupid. 2$ per click that's a HUGE.

Optimize your keywords,ad and landing page to have a good quality, to pay less but appear higher.

Your bid affects your position, but more important is how relevant you are. So don't bid that kind of money to appear higher, instead optimize the campaign.

i dont mind losing money if my bids will lower.....on my other campaigns im paying up to 2$ per click and profiting...so im just asking how long it takes until the cpcs lower, ive never really paid attention before to it

Well, the rate at which your cpc will drop depends largely on your CTR compared to your competitors, and if you are in a very competive niche, don't expect it to drop too much

I'm sure your competitors are are trying hard to accomplish the same goal

However, if you create a KICK ASS ad that compells people to click on your ad over your competitors, you will definitely see a drop in due time ( usually in a week or two)

$2 per click to appear top for a keyword isn't huge if it's a competitive keyword.

However, if your QS is already Great, the bids aren't likely to fall that much further.

There really isn't any good reason to bid more than a click's worth - your QS will improve if your advert etc are effective, regardless of where it appears, since Google takes your advert position into account when calculating it.

Try your advert in different positions, work out the most profitable, then test new adverts to improve the clickthrough rate.

When I created a new campaign, keywords status were "Great", but after few days it became "OK" and my bids went a bit up. No changes to the landing page or ads during those few days.

Is it because of my low CTR?

    Almost certainly.

Keep testing new adverts, and improving your CTR, and it should recover...

if CTR decreases then quality score decreases, if you change your Ad, landing page it might drop... therefore be careful....

But generally once your keyword get 10-15 clicks you will see impact of that on minimum bid...

if you keywords do not get impression for 3 days.. the minimum bid increases....

Thanks, I was thinking that it's my CTR problem, but I wasn't 100% sure.
