What site? The actual range is from a few minutes to a few years. Dependant upon quality & editor (or lack there of)
I've given up on DMOZ. None of my sites ever get added, never get any emails about denials either. From the threads I read about DMOZ here, I pretty much wrote them off months ago. Would be nice to be listed, but I'm not going to hold my breath (would have been dead months ago if I did).
I wrote few tips here but here are few more. Compare DMOZ category to the one at Google, if Google category has more content it means DMOZ category is dead and you can give up right here Don't bother submitting your site if its affiliate junk with zero unique content Write totally boring (ugly) description with minimal amount of keywords, don't use anything that even sounds as hype since it will only raise alarm with editor, boring descriptions have tendency to get approved quickly
That's the proper attitude. A lot of the categories are very, very deep and have near zero PR anyway. There are better links to worry about, both in terms of PR and traffic. Way better in fact.
Two methods depending on category. Corrupt Category)A competitor of mine paid a couple hundred and was in in about 24 hours. Some categories with a ton of spam sites and crap deep links are controlled by corrupt editors so expect $200 to $300. Non Corrupt)In a non corrupt category expect a few years wait until it gets corrupted then go with Corrupt method.
Got my blog submitted in a week or so, so I didn't see any of the things that everyone complains about.
