i came across a website that offers a banner ad on premium position, PR7 site... they have mind blowing traffic and it's exactly my niche so i am thinking of buying it, BUT... if we put aside the traffic it generates, how long should the link stay, in order to help my PR as well? would, say, 1 month be enough?
No. Months/Years IMO.The age of your backlinks is absolutely one of the most crucial factors. Google as well as other search engines realize webmasters could easily manipulate the results by doing just this, obtaining a bunch of links for a short period of time. Go for the long run!
You must keep those in place indefinitely --- as long as you can justify the benefit. The search engines recognizing the benefit of that PR7 will certainly see the detriment too. Stick with what you can afford, but you do have to spend money to make money. Reaching targeted audiences that are interested in your offerings, that are making you money is a great investment! thanks for your replies guys! well, the price for banner i am talking about is 35$ per day, so it's quite hard to keep the link for too long, as u probably understand. I originally wanted to occupy that ad spot on their site for traffic only but thought maybe i can benefit from their PR as well, so how much would i need to keep it there. since it's not my only backlink, i not sure i'll be able to finance it for ages, lol, but i will keep it for traffic purposes only then. thanks for your helpful advices, much appreciated!
pr 5 = $10 amonth not aday i see that offer in iwebtool.com ,check it. more : $9 Monthly Home and Garden 10,730 backlinks, Sitewide, 5PR $20 Monthly Computers and Internet 77,484 backlinks, Sitewide, 6PR $10 Lifetime Listing Entertainment 2,599 backlinks, Sitewide, 6PR $35 every 3 Months Computers and Internet 89,307 backlinks, Sitewide, 6PR $200 Yearly Computers and Internet 1,482 backlinks, Sitewide, 7PR
IMO you should keep those links forever...atleast when you still need and afford it...1 month i think is not enough as your not sure whether at that time google already update PR and i think the update was finish this january...
another thing I came across that may help make sure if you decide to do it all though I think its expensive and not worth it, make sure its a SEO same link if they use a banner management system getting an add on their site will be useless. Might as well get a load more back links for less get more for you money even if they are PR2 3 even 0 the more back links the better. Thats the best way to improve ur PR I think spend ur money wisely. Get links from paid directories and free ones put you link everywhere the more the better and it will cost you way less then 35/day you can get links for 1-5 per year so you do the math.
