I am starting to write articles for submission to article directories, blogs and every where they will assist in building quality inbound links. I have seen some contradictory posts here and elsewhere as to the length of the articles for optimal results and value. I find myself writing articles that are 1500 words plus, and wonder if I would be better off with three articles of 500 words, or the longer 1500 words. Also, should I have links sprinkled throughout the article, or just as a signature linking to my website? Most of the articles I see written in the area of my website are pretty superficial, and I am doing a good deal of research to back up my articles. I get the sense that I am wasting valuable time doing a lot of research, and should just down some coherant thoughts, or rewrite someone else's stuff? Also, how much latitude should one take in the subjects I write about? In other words, since my website is a lingerie site, should I limit it to lingerie, or venture off into relationships, romance, shoes, .................. Any help is always appreciated.
You will get more traffic from articles that are related to your site and more webmasters will want to publish your articles on their site if they offer original content.
I have heard from many posts that it is best to write about 400-700 words per article. Also having links in the article will give you better results, however most article directories only allow you to have the links as a resource box at the end of the article. I would recomend that you stay as close as possible to the topic of your site. And then when you run out of articles to write, go into less specific things. Kyle
You don't need to spend so much time on an article, keeping it around 500 words are good. Use good title and keywords. Also, make sure it is unique and write a lot of articles so you will be out there and people can find you easier.
The lenght of aricles should be 300 to 400 words and briefly summarize the main points of your article, how people can take action from the information and what results they can achieve.
