How long should I leave adverts for assesment and diversifying?

    Ok,

    I am trying a few different adverts on my site and different placements. How long should I leave them to assess their worth?

    Also am I better to diversify across several ad networks or am I better just having say

    adsense
    chitika
    commission monster

    or even just one of those?

    I am doing somne market research with my users and they tend not to click because all the adverts are US. It would be good if Google would allow you to select region based ads etc.

    Comission monster has a lot of different Australian advertisers and I am going to use them but have never had great success with pay per sale/lead ads before.

    Depend how much traffic you have, if you receive a good amount of traffic you can evaluate better different advertisers and pay per sale/lead offers.
    On pay per sale/lead you can have different results on the same offer/banner but from different network so the key is testing.

    In order to obtain valid results, I'd suggest testing each change to your site for at least a week before moving on to the next change. I can see clear daily trends in my traffic (i.e. Mondays are always higher than Fridays), and testing for only one day may deliver skewed or invalid results. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure, but probably the smart bet. :)
