How Long Should be the Title of the Page?

I want to know that how long should be the title of the web page.

is the following Title format okay or too long??

Web Business Directory - Promote Your Business - B2B Web Portal

Any help will be appreciated.

personal opinion here: less than 9 words. your one is fine!

 

Currently, Google shows the first 65 characters of the title tag. It's good that you keep in within 65 characters, but it's not really a tragedy if you make it a little bit longer. Just not too long.

 

Also, make sure that it's short and targeted enough that it matches the searchers' expectations, they're more likely to click on it.

 

I've heard it should always be under 100, and never have your site name at the beginning and the page name at the other, do it the other way around...

Bad Example: Yahoo! - automotive section
Good Example: automotive section - Yahoo!

Atleast that's what I've heard...

 

Here is a simple way to look at it, this is just the title of a page. You want it to be very brief and related to your content. Do not stuff keywords into the title.
