depends on your keyword or phrase that you're going for. If you're going after 'Apple Juice' than your title could be short, if you're going after 'how to build a treehouse with no nails' than your title will be longer.

    just depends really.

8 words maximum (around 90 characters). But use your title to sell your web page and include keywords in it that link to your site

You are better to cram a title than spam a tile. An example of cramming would be personal injury compensation. These threee words cover personal injury, injury compensation and personal injury compensation. This is a better title than say Personal Injury, Injury Compensation, Personal Injury Compensation which is a bit spammy.

    Hi

It’s always recommended that, the title should not exceed 65 characters as the search engine will only show up first 65 characters. Also try to accommodate main keywords in initial part of title tag.

Optimal title length. Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag. If you keep your titles under 60 characters, our research suggests that you can expect about 90% of your titles to display properly.

titles should be as short as possible...

Good title: Best DVD Player review
Bad Title: Best Model this, model that DVD player review with more keyword spam....

I am certain I read something about longer titles may hurt your SEO efforts...
google wants to see nice, clean, short to the point titles, so stuffing your titles
with every descriptive keyword you can think of is not helping your cause, and maybe hurting your seo efforts...
