I had targetted 12K weight to a single page on my website with 90% weight on 1 keyword and 10% on another less competitive keyword. This was done last week and I gained 1200 backlinks in msn in 4 days. For last 2 days no addition in backlinks. The main search term has 5 million results in msn. The #1 result has 10,000 backlinks and #300 results has 25 backlinks. And I am nowhere in SERP. How long does it take usually to show up in MSN SERPs if the links have come up for the first time ?

your going to have to make sure your on page SEO is right for MSN, as backlinks alone are not the wow factor they are with Google.

Is the on page optimization for msn similar to on page optimization of google ? Because google likes my on page optimization.

If it works for google, it should work for MSN.

Just follow the basics, title, h tags, anchor text, etc.

All these have been taken care of and targeting a 2 word keyphrase. And the backlinks have increased to 1450. There is no reason to be not in top 300 results unless there is some delay in msn as well after the links start showing up ? Like sandboxing or something .

Never experienced sandbox in MSN. Maybe there is somekind of filter applied to you?

The site is 5 years old and the page targetted is 4 months old. But it had no external backlinks till last week when I pointed 12k weight towards it using 2 keyphrases in 90-10 ratio. As mentioned by many in this forum, my backlinks grew to 13% of my weight in 100 hours (1450 backlinks in msn, 20 backlinks in yahoo, 4 in google , all starting from 0). This happened by this Monday. Although its just 3 days since then, what I am asking is that is it enough waiting. Should I distribute the weight across more anchor texts just in case msn also does not like same anchor text on over 1200 links ? Please share your experience in this.

.. backlinks alone don't get you ranking well in MSN.

I have a site which is rankin '1 with only 4 bl's on MSN, and most of the optimisation is on page, i.e. keyword content, description, and title tag, etc.

    wwhhomes,
as I mentioned earlier in this thread, my on page optimization is liked by google in general and also by msn for one of my other pages which I didnt use COOP on. Specifically, when I compare my page with some of the pages in SERPs 250-300 range in msn, they dont even have the keyword in the title tag or the url and they have only 25 backlinks. I have 1950 backlinks and the page is highly optimized for my 2 word keyphrase.

Is there a chance of triggering some filter ? Should I reduce the number of links in COOP or just wait ?
