Anyone here know how long is the analytics data? I knew there is a delay, just wonder how long would it be? one day or two days? Please help. Thanks
Definitely less than 24 hours. If you select your current day you can see relatively real time metrics. I would say there is a lag time, but as close as I can figure it is not more than 30 min. Check out for your self and do some tests if you don't believe.
I've given the definitive answer to this before, but I'll give it again because nobody ever looks to see if a question has been answered before. It's definitive, because it's the answer given by a Google engineer, in a GA seminar in a Google building. Data that's collected that doesn't need to aggregated or calculated is available in less than 2 hours - basically this means page views. Metrics that have to be calculated are 'crunched' and sent out at the end of the day (that'll be end of day where their servers are), so are available in around 24 hours.
Really? You think it's hard for a Google engineer addressing a seminar on Google analytics, to answer accurately? Oh well, I'm sure you know best.
well i guess saying less than 2 hours isnt accurate. im not trying to achive best anwser or anything so i dont understand whats your "realy" about.. just trying to be helpfull and giving my experience input to the thread...
Basically Google Analytics tracking code takes at least almost 24 hours to give the actual data of the website for the webmaster. If you are not able to receive any sort of data within the 24 hours then there may be a problem with analytics tracking installed on your website.
LOL don't check that often.... Check once a week, its not important to watch it that much set a time once or twice a week to look at it and look at it then, next time you look it will be updated.
Overture's data is based on more searches, so the values are going to be higher than Wordtracker's in most cases. This does not mean Wordtracker's data is less valuable (keep in mind that they are relative to each other).
I'm not sure about the delay and the accuracy of the following data, but if you click on the dropdown today's date only, it will show you pretty much everything - keyword traffic, referrals, unique, etc about the same day. Try it if you haven't already.
Actually GA tracks almost all of visitors for 24 hours, but in case there is a kind of traffic blowout (probably you've bought some traffic) or other unusual case it can collect your data up to 38 or even 48 hours... imho
