How long have you been a designer?

I have been doing we design since 2000 i believe, and still learning, how about you?

 

I've started learning the design as a hobby in 2001 and it's became my occupation since 2005.
Anyway, I think years of experience doesn't matter so much (of course first time does, but creative, ideas and kind of thinking is much more important).
So, if somebody just started, but have lots of ideas, he just need to know design basics and have some experience with photoshop or illustrator.
I know many people who create great designs after 1-2 years of learning and some ones, who still learning different styles by books, but can create nothing at their own (just copy of designs they saw).

 

I've been a web designer since 2005, designer in the sense that I code for myself and not as a job. Up until now I've mainly been coding in/learning advanced HTML, Photoshop, and PHP. I've only recently discovered the power (and complexity) of advanced CSS. Before I used to code regular CSS2, but I'm really hoping to expand my horizons with CSS3. I've been trying to make some money coding for others, but I haven't found the time. I got an offer here though, but once I requested payment (50% beforehand), they ran away . I even created a mockup prior to requesting it (and they loved it!!!!).

 

Hmm..11 years of HTML coding, 9 years of designing, 8 years of validated xHTML/CSS validated coding..code in any levels of xHTML, CSS, CSS2, and CSS3..but due to non-standard compliant, the last two are not my major option..It was my hobby developing web templates..but it has turned into almost a full-fledged job for me now while I'm pursuing my degree..

 

2 years of designing, 1 year of coding. Although, I am on a temporary hiatus from all of that at the moment.

Been designing for about 3 years+, however only just really started developing commercially. It was mainly a hobby and i did it for a few personal sites. I then moved onto coding and im now expanding my knowledge of php...or at least i like to think i am

This is my first year and i have just learned very basic html. Now i'm trying to practice as well as learn javascript and make my own graphics.

 

I've been designing as a hobby since 2000, It's still fun and always learning....html, java, php

 

16 years of design, 9 years of HTML & webdesign, 5 years of html/xhtml, css layouts, 4 years of specializing in email newsletter design and coding compatible with almost all web mail clients as well as desktop clients...

...btw, thanks for asking, I wouldn't have summarized this otherwise

 

1.5 years of XHTML/CSS coding and 1 month into Wordpress themes

 

I've been designing websites for almost 8 years now and I use PHP, CSS2, CSS3, XHML, jQuery and MySql and always validates my page. My problem is that here in Sweden you must have EXTREMELY expensive degree do get a good job and make a living. That's to bad because I love doing it...

 

I started my designing life at my age of 12 ..
My experience as a professional in this field is almost 9 years .

I have been web designer since 1998 but not only designer but also a very good web coder.

 

Photoshop work like editing pics etc from 1998 and web design from 2000, your always learning in this game.

 

4 years programming, 1 year flash designing.

 

since about 2001, you never stop learning and the industry is constantly changing so you never will know everything.
