    Hi all

I just wondered how long it takes for a domain to become available once it hits its expiration point?

From what I know the domain name become available after 45 days from the expiration date. Before that it is in redemption period from where the original owner can renew the domain name by paying some extra amount.

45 days from expiration? No way! I am waiting to register one domain name, it's been 77 days since it's expiry, Namecheap hasn't released the domain as of now. And guess what, that domain name has no valuable keywords, so I don't know why Namecheap is holding back the domain. I know of GoDaddy, if they find nice keywords in domain name and if it expired, they register it and try to sell later.
