I don't have any good last minute decent dofolow backlinks, but if one did manage to get one just how long do you think it would take google to actually find the thing and really count it for your site, in time for a pagerank update. Are we talking a few days? A few weeks? or more? I am always on the lookout for decent dofollow backlinks, but just wondering what kind of time frame would be sufficient enough to actually count, without getting caught in the middle of an update. Say they was a pr update in 4 days would getting a backlink today really count this time around or not until next time? Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks in advance!
google updates backlinks a lot more then the PR.that mean is updating often .i think no one can tell how often.but not days, and not more then weeks.for example you said (4 days) i don't think those backlinks will count for PR.google will give you PR juice for a backlink after some time, and the longer your backlink stays there better ,meaning that google will trust it more
Depends on the system you use and where you place your links. But if you are in a hurry, there are ways where the answer is - immediately! (The toolbar and toolbar updates are only for the public view. PR is updated in real time but you can't see it.) Concerning your question of showing changes in the Toolbar, Google should know about the links before they start with their Toolbar update. If the new link appears during their update you might have to wait until the next one to see the changes.
How long for Google to find and count backlinks? Well, I don't know only Google knows and even Google update the back links,...Google will not give all of your backlinks unlike yahoo.
I think backlinks update depends on the web site where backlinks are hosted. If crawlers visit that site often, than backlinks might get updated earlier.
It depends on the frequency that google crawls the page you place the backlink on. There are some which Google will find within a day and others that can take a couple weeks or more. Personally when I build links I wait a month or so and will see the backlinks help in the serps.
Thanks for the input. I know yahoo tends to show them faster than google or at least telling us that they have found them compared to google when simply doing a link:mysite.com type of thing. I usually think of google as being faster but never really followed it too much. For instance I read here in these forums all the time that people have difficulties getting google to come crawl their site. So I was thinking that unless the site is popular and crawled daily that even if I happened to get my link on a blog comment or something it might take google a while to actually find the thing, and who knows how much longer to count it as a valid backlink. Just curious I guess how long it might take for an average backlink to validly be counted by google. So far I am guessing it sounds like at least a week and probably more unless the site maybe is super popular.
Google would regularly update the serp and backlink, just like the PR, no one know the exact date of updating.
It depends on where you create your links. If the site where you create your link is regularly visited by Google crawlers, then those links will be counted asap...
Here's a way how to help Google to find backlinks: 1. You have to find a freehost (which is well-indexed by Google, example: blogspot.com or google note). 2. After you found it, you create there a link map for the pages with backlinks you want to be indexed. 3. Then you have to use social bookmarking or smth else...
