If you are trying to monitor the robot visits I used a free utility called Tackpro2 - its a beta version but tracks all hits from everything so you can see every single visit, page by page navigation, ip address, etc. It is great if you are starting a new site - only drawback is you need to use a database and it slows down quite a bit when you start getting reasonable numbers in your datbase tables. Definitely worth a look. I would be interested if anyone has any other good stats advice.
Watching Grass Grow got indexed by MSN withen a few weeks ... but for reasons unknown Watching Paint Dry hasn't shown up after the same amount of time. Ditto for Yahoo ... but both are sandboxed with Google.
I do very well (indexing wise) with MSN, I can usually get a new site fully indexed and ranking well within a couple of weeks. Initially MSN sends me most of the traffic but I'm hopefull that when the sites SERPS improves in the big 2 my traffic will sky rocket.
I recently put up a page about my deck designs but MSN doesn't see that yet, whereas Google does ... so there's a counter example. Both picked up the parent page aboutstamped concrete withen a day or two though.
