How long does it take?

Hi

How long does it take after you submit a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools to index the urls on the sitemap on Google?

I have heard it takes 5 days or more...
Anyone can explain

I have submitted the sitemap yesterday
It still says: You have recently submitted one or more Sitemaps for this site. Processing Sitemaps may take some time. Check again later to see if pages from your Sitemaps are included in Google's index

Also:
Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on May 24, 2008.

 

There is no rule,

i have had one site up really quickly in a couple of days, another took two weeks. It may also depend on whether you use other methods than just the sitemap to raise your profile, you could add the web site to your post on this forum, that would help with out a doubt,

Yeah true,

I have good backlinks, the main are on:
- PR6 website
- 2 x PR3 website
- 2 x PR2 website
- PR1 website

 

Then it should be very quickly indexed. I have couple of web sites with PR4 and when I put new links it gets indexed in 5-10 days.
