Anything between an hour and never.

There is no guarantee that you will ever get "a good amount of traffic" - firstly what on earth does that mean?
    1000 uniques a day? 5000? 20,000?
Secondly - does your site address a niche that has the capacity to get that sort of interest? And have you targeted the keywords that get the search volume to get that sort of traffic?
And what SEO have you been doing? On-page, off-page? Have you been building good-quality links with a natural looking link-profile, or are you dropping spammy-looking links on forum and social media that no PR and are mostly no-follow?
Properly conducted SEO that is intended to be long-term rarely sees the full capacity of what it can achieve before 4 to 6 months.

Whenever you get good ranking in Search engines for your keywords, obviously you will get enough traffic. For traffic you do SMO also try in twitter, facebook etc.

How many pages have you got right now and how many already appears in google index?
How about your backlinks? These are the two areas you will need to improve on.

Depends on the niche, competition keywords etc.
and what do you consider a good amount of traffic?
SEO is a long term process and you should keep on doing it with a long term goal...

SEO is a long process, the rankings and traffic depends on the competition on your keywords
Keep adding content and building backlinks everyday and on your journey find new and unique methods to get the rankings, and in the end the uniqueness of your method is what makes the difference

There are a lot of variables. First of, it depends on what your definition of good SEO is. Second, competitiveness of the industry and demographic that you are in. Brand new sites are tougher to get noticed. No matter what, I think it will take longer than a month and a couple of days...good luck.

You can see results from your efforts anywhere from a day to 90days+ ..... dont get too caught up in it, just keep making sure your pages are optimized and move onto the next.

You will see a good amount of traffic when your start ranking in Google TOP3 :)
In some competitive niches you won't see much progress even after 6 months.

In competitive niches, it is difficult to stay in ranking without continue seo.Your rankings can down and decrease in traffic.

It is based on the quality content and more back links. After getting a few good links it takes several months to start receiving some consistent search engine traffic. You have to keep working on your site, improving on page factors (keyword density etc), constantly getting new links, adding new content etc...
