I thought normally people needs to wait 3-15 months to get listed in major search engine. But my sites showed up after 3 days. The only reason I can think of is that I've those sites linked to one of my 9 yrs old site. Anybody have similar experience?

YES i have repeatedly made the experience that new sites that get promoted by OLD quality sites get listed in 3 days. i have done so by publishing an article in my blog about the new site/business and the blog/RSS feed is submitted to all major blog-SE and all posts pinged to RSS-SE. this system always worked so far. however i always limit this way of site promotion to known quality business and submit at same time to old smaller SE using my own submit SW to get instantly more OLD-site backlinks from reputable smaller SE

dont listen to the BS bout long listings. The longest I have seen on my sites for inclusion in google was 8 days. The quickest was 10 hrs (got luky with digg :D)

Getting a decent website submitted (like IBP will greatly improve your chances of a quik listing... dont know how but it works :D)
